The Ministry of Defence has assigned the additional charge of Director (Finance) at Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE) to Cmde Hari PR, IN (Retd.), who currently serves as the Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of the company.
According to the Ministry’s communication dated May 14, 2025, Cmde Hari PR will hold this additional responsibility for three months from June 1, 2025, to August 31, 2025, or until a regular appointment is made, or further orders are issued, whichever occurs first.
About Cmde PR Hari
Cmde Hari has been leading GRSE since June 10, 2022, and brings with him a distinguished career in defence services and shipbuilding.
A Mechanical Engineer with a Master’s in Defence & Strategic Studies, he is an alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College (Wellington), Army War College (Mhow), and the Naval War College (Goa), having completed advanced strategic and command courses during his service.
With over 36 years of professional experience, including 28 years in the Indian Navy, Cmde Hari has held several prestigious appointments across operational, technical, and strategic domains.
His naval career includes service aboard nine Indian Navy ships, seven of which were frontline warships. He played a pivotal role in the commissioning of INS Shivalik, India’s first indigenously-built stealth frigate, as the commissioning Engineering Officer.
His shore assignments included key roles at Naval Repair Yards, Dockyards, and Command Headquarters, as well as a critical posting as the Warship Production Superintendent at Kochi, where he oversaw progress on the Indigenous Aircraft Carrier project.
