New Delhi: In a bid to enhance India’s logistics efficiency, Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR) is accelerating the development of a seamless national logistics ecosystem. The company is advancing the creation of 16 Multimodal Logistics Parks (MMLPs) and 7 Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals (GCTs), which are strategically located along key industrial and freight corridors across the country.
These cutting-edge facilities are designed to integrate modern warehousing, rail sidings, and advanced road linkages, enabling efficient multimodal connectivity between major industrial hubs, ports, and markets. This development is part of India’s ongoing efforts to transform its logistics landscape under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, which aims to promote infrastructure integration for better economic and trade growth.
Multimodal Logistics Parks to Enhance Supply Chain Efficiency
CONCOR’s new MMLPs are equipped as plug-and-play logistics hubs, offering a comprehensive range of services that combine rail, road, and warehousing. These facilities are expected to significantly reduce transit times, logistics costs, and improve supply chain visibility and reliability across the country.
The parks will serve as centralized nodes for various logistics operations, thus ensuring faster cargo movement while simultaneously supporting India’s green transition. By facilitating better multimodal connectivity, these parks will streamline freight transport across rail, road, and water, thereby enhancing India’s supply chain efficiency.

Direct Connectivity to the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC)
Notably, four of these MMLPs are directly connected to the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC), a vital step in achieving a green modal shift from road to rail transportation. This connectivity plays a key role in improving the overall efficiency of cargo movement while contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions, aligning with India’s sustainability goals.
The DFC connection is a transformative feature of CONCOR’s logistics hubs. It not only optimizes the logistics network but also promotes the shift from road-based freight to rail-based transport — a cleaner and more energy-efficient mode of transportation.
Boosting India’s Global Manufacturing and Trade Position
The establishment of these state-of-the-art logistics facilities will play a key role in strengthening India’s position as a global manufacturing and trade hub. By improving connectivity and efficiency in the transportation of goods, CONCOR’s multimodal network is designed to create faster, more cost-effective solutions for businesses engaged in trade and manufacturing across India.
A spokesperson for CONCOR stated, “With our multimodal logistics network, CONCOR is enabling faster, greener, and more efficient cargo movement, thereby driving India’s economic growth and enhancing its trade competitiveness.”
CONCOR’s Vision for the Future
As India’s logistics landscape continues to evolve, CONCOR’s ongoing initiatives are set to play a critical role in unlocking economic potential and improving the global competitiveness of Indian trade. The company’s robust infrastructure will help reduce logistics costs and improve the speed of delivery, ultimately benefiting businesses, consumers, and the environment alike.
