The Krishna district in the state of Andhra Pradesh completed a dry run of the Covid-19 vaccination program on Monday to ensure various exercises and challenges they have to go through before the actual drive is conducted all over the country.
Mr. A Md Imtiyaz, District Collector of Krishna District conducted this drive at the urban primary health centre at Prakash Nagar in Vijayawada. Dummy vaccines were transported from the central storage facility to cold chain points and the drive was conducted at five different locations.
25 beneficiaries (health workers) were selected for each session. Mr. Imtiyaz told the media, “The administration has recorded this in Co-WIN app and sent messages to the beneficiaries. The time taken in the drive was monitored by the administration which will be stimulated in the actual drive.”
The central government has chosen four states where these dry runs are being conducted and Andhra Pradesh is one of them. The state government of Andhra Pradesh chose Krishna district to conduct this dry run and hence the drive was conducted in five locations in the district.
