New Delhi: Shubhanshu Shukla Ashok Chakra is now a defining headline in India’s defence and space history. The Indian Air Force (IAF) has congratulated Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla on being awarded the Ashok Chakra, India’s highest peacetime gallantry award.

The Indian Air Force formally announced that Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla has been awarded the Ashok Chakra for outstanding service to the nation.

The Ashok Chakra is conferred for the most conspicuous bravery, courage, or self-sacrifice away from the battlefield.

The Ashok Chakra is India’s highest peacetime gallantry award. It is awarded for acts of valour that involve extreme risk to life in non-combat situations. Recipients are recognised for extraordinary courage, presence of mind, and leadership in the most challenging circumstances. 

For an IAF officer engaged in advanced operational and space-related missions, the honour signals both personal bravery and institutional excellence.
