With the Delhi Assembly elections scheduled for February 2025, the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) has made a significant reshuffle of five senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. The reshuffling aims to streamline governance and enhance efficiency in key sectors ahead of the crucial elections.
Among the five officers, Bipul Pathak (1992), Sanjiv Kumar (1992), and Nandini Paliwal (2003) were awaiting new postings for a while, while A Anbarasu (1996) and Kumar Abhishek (2016) were already serving in important roles.
Key Appointments:
Bipul Pathak (IAS: 1992: AGMUT) has been appointed as the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) for Industries. In addition to his new role, he will take on the additional responsibility of Chairman for the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) and Managing Director of the Delhi Khadi & Village Industries Board (DKVIB).
Sanjiv Kumar (IAS: 1992: AGMUT) has been posted as ACS-cum-Commissioner for Food and Civil Supply. He will also hold the additional charge of Chairman for the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) and the Chief Managing Director (CMD) for the Delhi State Civil Supplies Corporation (DSCSC).
A Anbarasu (IAS: 1996: AGMUT), who was already serving as Principal Secretary for Home and Public Works Department (PWD), has now been given the additional charge of Principal Secretary for Information and Publicity.
Nandini Paliwal (IAS: 2003: AGMUT) has been appointed as Secretary for Higher Education & Training and Technical Education. She will also take on the additional role of Managing Director of the Delhi Co-operative Housing Finance Corporation (DCHFC).
Kumar Abhishek (IAS: 2016: AGMUT), currently serving as Director for Higher Education and Director for Training & Technical Education (TTE), will also hold the additional charge of General Manager for the Delhi Consumer’s Co-operative Wholesale Store (DCCWS) and GM for the Delhi State Civil Supplies Corporation (DSCSC).
The reshuffle reflects the Delhi government’s focus on strengthening its administrative machinery and addressing the key issues that will come to the forefront in the lead-up to the Assembly elections.
