In a significant administrative overhaul, the Delhi Government has transferred and posted 72 IAS officers across departments, reshaping the capital’s bureaucratic structure. The reshuffle includes six AGMUT cadre officers who have served in Jammu and Kashmir or are moving from the J&K segment to take up key assignments in the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD).
Senior officer Bipul Pathak, a 1992-batch IAS officer, will continue as Additional Chief Secretary (Social Welfare). He will also retain additional charges as Director (UTCS) and Additional Chief Secretary (SC/ST/OBC). The move ensures continuity in crucial welfare portfolios.
Santosh D. Vaidya, a 1998-batch IAS officer who was serving as Principal Secretary (Finance) in Jammu and Kashmir, has been appointed as Principal Secretary (Home) in Delhi. He will also hold additional charges of Principal Secretary (Finance/Planning), Principal Secretary (Industries), and Chairperson of the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC).
KEY PORTFOLIOS SEE STRATEGIC REALIGNMENT
Pandurang K. Pole, a 2004-batch officer, has been shifted from the Higher Education and Education departments to Secretary (GAD). He will also serve as Secretary-cum-Commissioner (Labour) and Secretary (Cooperation).
Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, a 2005-batch IAS officer, will continue as Secretary (Urban Development) and retain Environment & Forests. He has also been appointed Chairman of the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC).
Among younger officers, Niraj Kumar, a 2010-batch IAS officer who was awaiting posting, has been named Special Secretary (SC/ST/OBC). Saloni Rai, a 2016-batch officer and former Deputy Commissioner of Udhampur, has been appointed Deputy Commissioner/District Magistrate (North), Delhi.
The reshuffle is seen as a move to streamline governance and strengthen administrative efficiency in key sectors, including home, finance, urban development and social welfare.
