New Delhi: Residents of the nation’s capital are set to receive a major boost in sports infrastructure as the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) plans to build the city’s largest multi-sport stadium in Narela. Spread over 75 acres in Sector G-3 and G-4, the stadium will meet Olympic-standard specifications and provide world-class facilities for athletes across multiple sports.
Stadium Overview and Capacity
The new stadium will be an integrated multi-sport complex, featuring facilities for cricket, tennis, badminton, table tennis, swimming, and more. With a seating capacity of approximately 80,000, it will surpass the current Arun Jaitley Stadium, which accommodates 55,000 spectators. The stadium aims to host both national and international sporting events, offering a modern platform for players and enthusiasts alike.

Licencing, Proposal, and Construction Timeline
The DDA has invited Request for Proposal (RFPs) for the project, which will be constructed on a license basis for 55 years. Key financial details include:
- Bid security: ₹28 crore
- Annual license fee: ₹36.12 lakh

- Pre-bid meeting: 23 March
- Site inspection: 20 April
- Bid submission deadline: 24 March
- Construction timeline: 36 months (3 years)

The stadium will feature high-tech facilities for athletes, including dedicated practice areas for all included sports. For visitors and tourists, the stadium campus will include:
- A luxurious clubhouse with approximately 75 executive rooms
- Retail outlets and commercial office spaces
- Ample parking for cars and bikes
