Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) marked a major milestone on May 9, 2025, by entering into an agreement with M/s Shrijee Nuravi Chuperbhita-Shimlong Mines Pvt. Limited for the development and operation of the Chuperbhita-Shimlong Open Cast Project (OCP) under the Rajmahal Area.
An ‘Agreement Exchange Ceremony’ was held at ECL headquarters in Sanctoria, signifying the launch of a key mining partnership. The project, with a production capacity of 6 million tonnes per year (MTY), is a strategic initiative aimed at boosting coal output and operational efficiency in the Rajmahal coalfields.
The agreement was exchanged between A.N. Nayak, Area General Manager, Rajmahal Area, ECL, and Ravi Ranjan Chaubey, Head of M/s Shrijee Nuravi. The event was graced by Satish Jha, CMD of ECL, along with Functional Directors and other senior officials.
The collaboration is expected to play a crucial role in reinforcing ECL’s long-term goals of sustainable coal mining and energy security.
