Former IAS officer and state MLC AK Sharma has been appointed as the Vice President of BJP in Uttar Pradesh. Swatantra Dev Singh, Chief of BJP UP’s unit announced his appointment on Saturday.
Mr. Sharma is considered as the closed aide of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He was handling the MSME (micro, small and medium enterprises) ministry’s affairs, a crucial department working under the prime minister’s plan for the revival of the economy following the lockdown triggered by Covid-19 crisis.
Mr. Sharma is 1988 batch officer of Gujarat Cadre. He has served on many crucial positions as a bureaucrat. He was also the rehabilitation commissioner for the Sardar Sarovar project on Narmada and coordinated first edition of ‘Vibrant Gujarat
