Just after FIR has been registered against ex-Commissioner of Mumbai Police Param Bir Singh, DCP Parag Manere and 26 other officers over corruption charges , the ex-top cop has moved to High Court calling himself a whistleblower. Mr Singh has filed petition challenging two preliminary enquiries against him by Maharashtra government. He has seeking protection with the petition saying that he has just highlighted the corruption in the highest public office.
Let it be noted that before this, Inspector Bhimrao Ghadge, attached to Akola police control room, had levelled corruption allegations against Mr. Singh and demanded an inquiry and registration an FIR against him. Ghadge alleged that Param Bir Singh had called him and allegedly asked to drop the names of some high profile accused arrested by him in a cheating case.
In the petition filed, Mr. Singh cited that the enquiries initiated by the Home Ministry, Maharashtra on 1st and 20th April are to harass him and is a witch hunt tactic. Singh has been shifted to Home Guards department in March after the Antilia Bomb scare case. After this he wrote a letter to government alleging corruption and misuse of power by ex-minister Anil Deshmukh.
