New Delhi: India’s advanced anti-drone training programme for CISF officers marks a major step toward strengthening national security and protecting critical infrastructure. Conducted under the Digital India initiative, this programme focuses on equipping security personnel with modern counter-drone skills. 

With the rising threat of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), this advanced anti-drone training programme for CISF officers ensures that India’s frontline forces are ready to detect, track, and neutralise hostile drones effectively.

Details of Anti-Drone Training Programme For CISF officers 

The National e-Governance Division (NeGD) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology successfully conducted a 5-day Advanced Anti-Drone Training Programme.

  • Location: Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), Pune
  • Participants: Officers from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)
  • Collaboration: DIAT and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO)

This is the first intensive, technology-driven programme designed specifically for personnel involved in protecting national assets.

Focus on Protecting Critical Infrastructure

The main aim of the programme is to improve the ability of CISF officers to handle drone threats.

Drones can be used for:

  • Surveillance
  • Smuggling
  • Attacks on sensitive locations

This training prepares officers to safeguard:

  • Airports
  • Power plants
  • Government buildings
  • Strategic installations

Hands-On Training with Advanced Technologies

The programme included practical and real-world learning modules.

  • Neutralisation of hostile drones
  • Directional and omnidirectional jamming techniques

  • 3D trajectory analysis of drones

The training was inaugurated by Dr. B H V S Narayana Murthy, Vice Chancellor of DIAT.

What is the Importance of Anti-Drone Training Programme For CISF officers

This programme is part of NeGD’s Capacity Building initiative under Digital India.
