New Delhi: Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO), under Special Campaign 6.0, has reinforced its commitment to building a cleaner, greener and more inclusive India through activities focused on cleanliness, environmental conservation and community development.

A key highlight of the campaign was an initiative at the Institution for the Blind in Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi, undertaken under HUDCO’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. The initiative aimed to improve the campus environment and create cleaner, safer and more accessible spaces for students and staff.

HUDCO Plants Over 100 Saplings at Institution for the Blind

As part of the CSR initiative, HUDCO planted more than 100 saplings and placed flower pots across the Institution for the Blind campus to enhance its green cover.

The classrooms and boundary walls were also painted with creative artwork to make the premises more vibrant. Several infrastructure improvement measures were undertaken, including the replacement of wired mesh in ground-floor windows, installation of a new gate and development of a shaded vehicle parking area.

In addition, the playground and other campus areas were cleared of waste and debris. The temple terrace and adjoining walls were also cleaned and painted.

These measures reflect HUDCO’s focus on inclusive community development, environmental conservation and providing hygienic, dignified and improved surroundings for institutions serving persons with visual disabilities.
