New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the final result of the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (I), 2026. A total of 617 candidates have qualified for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the National Defence Academy’s 157th Course and the 119th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC).

The commission announced the result on November 5, publishing the candidates’ names and roll numbers in order of merit on its official website. The list includes 551 male and 66 female candidates.

Candidates who appeared for the examination can check their selection status through the final result PDF available on the UPSC website.

From Written Examination to SSB: How Candidates Were Selected

According to the commission, the final merit list has been prepared based on candidates’ performance in two stages:

  • Written examination: Conducted on April 12, 2026.
  • SSB interviews: Conducted subsequently by the Services Selection Board under the Ministry of Defence.

The candidature of all 617 candidates remains provisional, subject to the submission and verification of the required certificates, including those related to date of birth and educational qualifications.

Selection List Out, But Medical Clearance Still Matters

Making it to the final merit list does not mean that admission is unconditional. Candidates must still fulfil the prescribed medical and other eligibility requirements.

UPSC has clarified that medical examination results were not considered while preparing the published merit list. Candidates must also complete the required documentation and verification formalities before their admission can be confirmed.

Individual Marks to Be Released After 15 Days

Candidates should note that the declaration of the final result does not mean that individual marks are available immediately.

UPSC has stated that candidates’ marks will be uploaded to its official website 15 days after the declaration of the final result. Since the result was announced on November 5, the marks are expected to be made available after November 20, 2026.

The commission has also specified that candidates can contact its facilitation counter on working days between 10 AM and 5:30 PM for examination-related queries.

For further assistance, candidates can contact the UPSC helpdesk:

  • Telephone: 011-24041001 / 011-40303444
