The Finance Department is set to appoint a new Secretary following the exit of 1987-batch Odisha cadre IAS officer Mr. Tuhin Kanta Pandey, who has been named the SEBI Chief.
Earlier, after the then Finance Secretary Dr. T.V. Somanathan (1987-batch Tamil Nadu cadre IAS officer) was appointed as Cabinet Secretary in August 2024, Mr. Pandey took over as Finance Secretary on September 8, 2024. With his new appointment, the position will once again be filled.
