Mr. B Lakshmi Kantham, former IAS officer of the Andhra Pradesh cadre and Vice Chair of the International Trade and Business Alliances, has been invited to address the EU Parliament in Brussels. The event, scheduled for June, will see participation from 44 parliament members and representatives of 2,740 companies worldwide.

Mr. Lakshmi Kantham, who previously served as JEO of TTD and Collector of Krishna district, has also held the position of Director at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He has received nearly 100 international and national awards, earning recognition in the India Book of Records.
The International Trade and Business Alliances, established in 2011, has been actively working to strengthen trade relations between India, the UK, and the European Union. The upcoming Brussels meeting will focus on renewable energy, academic cooperation, and trade relations.
Mr. Lakshmi Kantham highlighted that India-EU relations date back to the early 1960s, covering shared interests in trade, investment, security, climate change, and sustainable development. The session will particularly emphasize milestones in India-EU trade relations, with discussions on semiconductor collaboration between the two regions.
The event will explore ways to support India’s semiconductor industry, enhance trade and investment, and facilitate technology transfer between India and the EU in this critical sector. Mr. Lakshmi Kantham had also been a speaker at the previous Brussels session, reinforcing his active role in strengthening global trade partnerships.
