Ms. Raturi, who retired as the state’s first woman Chief Secretary on March 31, 2025, handed over the charge to her successor, Mr. Anand Vardhan (1992-batch Uttarakhand cadre IAS officer). Before becoming Chief Secretary, she served as Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister. She was appointed as CS on January 31, 2024, replacing Mr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu (1988-batch Uttarakhand cadre IAS officer), just two months before her scheduled retirement. The Uttarakhand government later extended her tenure by six months, allowing her to serve until March 31, 2025.
Her appointment as the State Chief Information Commissioner is seen as a significant decision, not only in terms of public service but also because the position comes with several lifetime privileges for the post-holder.
