The company’s presence has also catalyzed a thriving auto-component supply chain in and around Mehsana.
Auto Exports Surge from Gujarat’s Ports
Gujarat’s robust port infrastructure including Mundra and Pipavav ports that have enabled the state to emerge as a key automotive export hub. In 2024 alone, Gujarat’s auto exports were valued at approximately ₹3,459 crore, with countries like South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Japan, the UAE, and Chile among the top destinations.

Massive Capital Infusion into Auto Sector
In FY 2022–23, Gujarat attracted ₹29,700 crore in automotive investments, registering a CAGR of 16.4% over five years, reinforcing investor confidence in the state’s pro-business policies and ecosystem.
A significant portion of this capital is being channelled into future-ready technologies, especially in the EV segment.
Mandal Becharaji SIR: The New Detroit of India
The Mandal Becharaji Special Investment Region (SIR) has become the nucleus of Gujarat’s auto-industrial boom. Suzuki’s most recent commitments in the region include:
- EV Manufacturing Facility – ₹3,100 crore
- EV Battery Plant – ₹7,300 crore
These landmark projects signal Gujarat’s long-term commitment to becoming a global EV manufacturing destination.
