GAIL Honours Quality Champions: CMD Trophy Awards Presented to Top QC Teams for Excellence in Process Innovation

GAIL presents CMD Trophy Awards to four QC teams for outstanding quality control projects in FY 2023–24.

New Delhi: GAIL (India) Limited reinforced its commitment to Total Quality Management (TQM) by honouring the best Quality Control (QC) projects of FY 2023–24. The prestigious CMD Trophy Awards were presented to four standout QC teams during a felicitation ceremony held on July 30, 2025, at GAIL’s Corporate Office in New Delhi.

Celebrating Quality and Continuous Improvement

The ceremony was graced by Sandeep Kumar Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director, along with senior leadership including R K Jain, Director (Finance); Deepak Gupta, Director (Projects); Shri Ayush Gupta, Director (HR); R K Singhal, Director (Business Development); and Rajnesh Singh, Chief Vigilance Officer. Senior officials and members of the winning QC teams also attended the event.

The CMD Trophy recognizes innovation and efficiency through structured quality practices. It highlights GAIL’s strong focus on using integrated systems of tools, techniques, and training to deliver process improvements and customer satisfaction.

Top Teams Recognised Across GAIL Units

Team ‘Sambhav-4’ from Pata emerged as the top performer, securing the first rank for their outstanding QC initiative. Team ‘Optima’ from Rajahmundry and team ‘Amrutam’ from Pata followed in second and third positions, respectively. Team ‘Sajag’ from Noida received the consolidation prize, rounding off the top honours.

The awards underscore GAIL’s enduring commitment to cultivating a culture of excellence across all operational zones. By encouraging continuous innovation through TQM, the company continues to elevate its performance standards and service delivery.
