In a heartfelt tribute to India’s rural healthcare champions, GAIL (India) Limited launched the Bundi edition of Project Sakhi Satchel on May 20, 2025, as part of its CSR outreach. The initiative aims to support and recognize the selfless contributions of ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) Workers, who serve as the backbone of primary healthcare in India’s villages.
The event, held at Purani Dhaan Mandi Campus in Bundi, was graced by Hon’ble Lok Sabha Speaker and MP from Kota, Om Birla, who attended as the Chief Guest. Also present were Anoop Gupta, Executive Director (CSR & HR), GAIL, and Anil Kumar Jha, Chief General Manager, GAIL.
As part of the initiative, over 1,100 ASHA Workers were honoured and presented with thoughtfully curated utility kits. Each kit included a lightweight water bottle and a lunch box, small yet significant tools designed to ease the daily efforts of these frontline healthcare workers who walk miles every day to ensure basic medical care reaches every corner of rural India.
“These everyday health warriors are vital to the success of our rural health mission. This initiative is GAIL’s humble tribute—our way of saying thank you for their unmatched dedication,” the company stated. The event celebrated the spirit, strength, and service of ASHA Workers and reaffirmed GAIL’s commitment to supporting inclusive and sustainable development.
GAIL emphasized that when we talk about ‘Viksit Bharat’, or a developed India, it cannot be achieved without a ‘Swasth’ (healthy) and ‘Swachh’ (clean) Bharat, and ASHA Workers are central to that mission.
Project Sakhi Satchel is part of GAIL’s broader CSR efforts aligned with the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister to empower rural India and strengthen public health delivery systems.
