The district administration in Ganjam, Odisha, has started a free coaching centre in Berhampur for students preparing for UPSC and OPSC examinations.
Officials said two more coaching centres will soon begin operations in Bhanjanagar and Chhatrapur next week.
170 Students to Benefit
A total of 170 aspirants will receive coaching through the three centres. Out of them, 85 are women.
The selected candidates have been chosen through an entrance test conducted by the district administration.
Partnership with Delhi-Based Coaching Institute
To strengthen the programme, the administration has signed a memorandum of understanding with a coaching institute based in New Delhi.
Apart from professional trainers, serving IAS and IPS officers, senior district officials, and retired officers will also guide the students.
Speaking about the initiative, Ganjam Collector V Keerthi Vasan said the vision behind “Lakshya Niketan” is to build an inclusive environment that supports talented youth and prepares them for civil services and other competitive examinations.
