New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Ghanshyam Das Gupta for the post of Director (Mining) at Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), a PSU under the Ministry of Mines. Gupta currently serves as Executive Director & Unit Head at HCL.
PESB Selection Process
Gupta’s name emerged from a competitive list of 11 candidates, including senior executives from Hindustan Copper Limited, NMDC Limited, NLC India Limited, and International Coal Ventures Limited (ICVL). The candidates were interviewed during the 5th PESB selection meeting of 2026 held on January 23.
Appointment Subject to ACC Approval
The final appointment of Ghanshyam Das Gupta as Director (Mining) will require approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) along with other requisite clearances in line with government norms.
