New Delhi: In a key diplomatic development, the Government of India has appointed Ms. Gloria Gangte, a 2000 batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer, as the next Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Norway. Ms. Gangte is currently serving as India’s High Commissioner to the Republic of Malta.
This appointment marks a significant milestone in her distinguished career of over two decades, known for her deep engagement with multilateral diplomacy and India’s strategic international outreach.
Who is Gloria Gangte?
Ms Gangte is a senior career diplomat in the Indian Foreign Service. An officer of the 2000 batch, she has served in multiple critical assignments across Europe, Latin America, the Gulf, and at the United Nations.
Before her current assignment in Malta, Ms. Gangte was Joint Secretary in the Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) Division at the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi. She was instrumental in deepening India’s ties with over 33 countries in the LAC region through her work in areas such as trade, culture, and diplomacy.
