The Forest, Environment & Climate Change ministry of Rajasthan organised the 74th state level Van Mahotsava in Bassi, Jaipur on 11th September 2023. The program is aimed at creating awareness about plantation among public and encourage them to plant more & more trees.
On the occasion, the forest ministry took a pledge to plant five crore trees covering 80 thousand hectares of land under the Rajasthan government’s ‘Tree Outside Forest Area’ program. The program aims at increasing vegetation cover in the state.
Chief Minister Mr. Ashok Gehlot congratulated the forest department for organising such a massive campaign. In a message shared by the ministry, CM said, “Importance of forest and trees for life and environment is known by everybody. Their development is the only way to maintain the eco-logical balance. Programs like Van Mahotsava are great way to create awareness about such things”.
