Medical College, New Bus Stand, and Urban Upgrades on the Horizon

As highlighted by MLA Ms. Lalita Yadav, construction of the Chhatarpur Medical College is already 60% complete, with parallel work ongoing at Chhatrasal College. Plans are underway for new bus stands, auditoriums, and municipal corporation status for Chhatarpur, which will unlock a host of civic development projects.

“Chhatarpur is set for a transformational leap that will reflect in education, healthcare, sports, and urban amenities,” said Ms. Yadav.

Linking Heritage with Development: Ken-Betwa Project and River Pilgrimage Paths

Dr. Yadav praised the Ken-Betwa river link project, calling it a “boon” for Bundelkhand, promising to elevate grain production beyond Punjab and Haryana by ensuring widespread irrigation.

He reiterated plans to develop “Shri Krishna Patheya”, a spiritual tourism route inspired by Lord Krishna’s travels, akin to the “Shri Ram Van Gaman Path”. The CM emphasized cultural integration with infrastructure, citing efforts to promote Mahakal Lok and Omkareshwar Lok as models for Bundelkhand’s future pilgrimage tourism.

Infrastructure Boost through MP-UP Economic Corridor

Highlighting improved connectivity, the CM said that with the completion of the Sagar-Kabrai four-lane road under the MP-UP Economic Corridor, Chhatarpur will be just two hours from Sagar, greatly enhancing trade and travel within the region.

Cow Welfare and Farmers’ Income: Kamdhenu Yojana in Focus

CM Yadav emphasized the importance of cows in rural livelihood and reiterated his commitment to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana. Under this initiative:

  • Farmers receive subsidies for purchasing cows
  • The state will procure milk directly from cowherds
  • This scheme aims to boost rural income and strengthen self-reliance among small farmers

“Those who have cows are true Gopals. The government is with them,” he added.

Empowering Women: Laadli Behna Yojana Gifts Rs. 1500 Monthly

In his speech, CM Yadav underscored the Laadli Behna Yojana under which:

  • Rs. 1500 was transferred during Rakshabandhan
  • From Bhai Dooj, eligible women will receive Rs. 1500 every month

This move aims to support women’s financial independence and uplift families.

Youth Empowerment Through Jobs and Self-Employment

Dr. Yadav detailed the government’s commitment to job creation:

  • 1 lakh new government posts have been created
  • Over 22,000 police recruitments completed
  • Self-employment schemes alongside industrial growth are being promoted

The government aims to integrate skilled youth into sectors including tourism, agriculture, and small-scale manufacturing.

Cultural and Educational Infrastructure: Inauguration of Rs. 5 Crore Central Library

The CM also inaugurated a modern Central Library built at a cost of Rs. 5 crore in the Chhatarpur Irrigation Colony. The state-of-the-art facility is aimed at encouraging a knowledge-driven youth ecosystem. He urged students to use the library to shape their futures.

Union Minister Mr. Virendra Kumar, Minister of State Mr. Dilip Ahirwar, and Inspector General Ms. Himani Khanna were among those present at the event.

Chhatarpur: From Historical Legacy to Modern Model District

With references to Maharaj Chhatrasal, Alha-Udal, and Khajuraho’s global fame, the Chief Minister lauded Chhatarpur’s glorious past and its potential for a modern renaissance through strategic investments.

“The heritage of Chhatarpur must meet the aspirations of today. Our government is committed to building a new Bundelkhand — strong in history, rich in development,” Dr. Yadav said.
