Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Yogi Adityanath, during his visit to Nath Nagri (Bareilly) on Wednesday, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 545 development projects worth Rs. 2,264 crore. Addressing a large public gathering, the Chief Minister highlighted the transformation of Bareilly, stating that it is emerging as a new hub of spiritual tourism and inclusive development under the double-engine BJP government.

Revival of Spiritual and Civic Identity

Mr. Adityanath emphasised that Bareilly’s Nath Corridor, now a prominent spiritual destination, attracts lakhs of devotees. “The Kanwar Yatra, once targeted by anti-social elements, has become a symbol of social harmony and unity,” he said, crediting public vigilance and strong law enforcement for preserving cultural traditions.

He also declared that key temples including Alakhnath, Tripathinath, Gopeshwarnath, and Pashupatinath will be developed into prime centers of spiritual tourism, significantly strengthening Bareilly’s religious identity.

Youth Empowerment and Transparent Hiring

A major highlight of the event was the distribution of appointment letters to over 6,000 youth selected through the Rozgaar Mela. The CM also distributed tablets and certificates to beneficiaries of welfare schemes and urged the youth to make use of the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Yojana, which offers interest-free and collateral-free loans starting from Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 10 lakh based on timely repayment.

Slamming previous governments for nepotism, Mr. Adityanath said, “Before 2017, jobs were distributed through ‘uncle-nephew’ networks. Today, over 8.5 lakh jobs have been given on the basis of transparency and merit, with over 12,000 posts secured by young women.”

Key Developmental Projects Unveiled

The 545 projects include 222 inaugurated works worth Rs. 1,258 crore and 323 foundation-laying projects worth Rs. 1,004 crore. Major initiatives include:

  • Ramganga Flood Protection Scheme
  • Widening of Sanda Pal Marg
  • Unani Medical College
  • Municipal Corporation Office
  • Power Department Building
  • Gas Conservation Projects
  • New Bypasses, Flyovers, Road Widening Projects
  • Rural Drinking Water Schemes
  • Tourism Projects including Ramnagar Fort and Ahichhatra Digambar Jain Temple

Double-Engine Government’s Vision for UP

Mr. Adityanath reiterated that law and order has been restored in Bareilly, a city once plagued by communal tensions. “Uttar Pradesh is now mafia-free and fear-free,” he stated. The Chief Minister praised initiatives like One District One Medical College and One District One Product, stressing that the state is balancing heritage with infrastructure.

“UP is the janmabhoomi and tapobhoomi of Lord Ram, Krishna, Buddha, and the Jain Tirthankaras. We’re combining our spiritual strength with world-class infrastructure to make UP a national and global economic powerhouse,” he said.

Women-Centric Announcements and Cleanliness Campaign

As a special initiative for Rakshabandhan, Mr. Adityanath announced free bus travel for women and one co-passenger across the state from August 8 to 10, applicable in both UPSRTC and city buses. He also declared a statewide cleanliness campaign ahead of Independence Day and Janmashtami, urging citizens to participate actively.

People-Centric Governance

The CM mentioned that suggestions from public representatives of Bareilly division are shaping the roadmap for upcoming development projects across Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, and Budaun.

“Government schemes are now delivered without discrimination of caste, religion, or region. This is New India, guided by Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” he said, reaffirming the government’s commitment to inclusive growth.

Dignitaries Present

Several prominent leaders attended the event, including Cabinet Ministers Mr. Suresh Kumar Khanna and Mr. Dharmpal Singh, Ministers of State JPS Rathore and Sanjay Singh Gangwar, MP Chhatrapal Singh Gangwar, Mayor Umesh Gautam, and MLAs Sanjeev Agarwal, Shyam Bihari Lal, and others.

This landmark event marks a major leap in Bareilly’s transformation, with holistic development encompassing infrastructure, heritage, employment, education, and women empowerment.
