DoPPW Enhances DR For Pensioners of Central Government

Dearness Relief is enhanced from 31% to 34% w.e.f January 01, 2022.

Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare issued a notification regarding the enhancement of Dearness relief to the pensioners/Family pensioners of central government on Tuesday. Previously only 31% of dearness grant was given, which has been extended to 34% as an extended relief. This revised rate is effective from January 1, 2022.

The people who will get the benefit of enhanced dearness relief are All India Service Pensioners, Railway Pensioners/family pensioners, Civilian Central Government Pensioners/Family Pensioners including Central Govt. absorbee pensioners in PSU/Autonomous Bodies, the Armed Forces Pensioners, Civilian Pensioners paid out of the Defence Service estimates, Pensioners who are in receipt of provisional pension, The Burma  Civilian  pensioners/family  pensioners  and  pensioners/families of displaced Government  Pensioners  from Burma/ Pakistan.

After the release of official notification, orders have been given to the pension disbursing authorities, including the nationalized banks, etc. to calculate the quantum of Dearness Relief payable in each individual case.
