Jharkhand Chief Minister Mr. Hemant Soren on Tuesday honored the toppers of matriculation and intermediate examinations of the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) for the year 2025. Students excelling in other boards were also felicitated during the event.
Scooty, Laptop, and Rs. 3 Lakh Awarded to Toppers
In recognition of academic excellence, the state government awarded toppers with a Suzuki 125 CC scooty, laptop, mobile phone, and a cheque of Rs. 3 lakh. The initiative reflects the government’s focus on encouraging merit and supporting students with modern resources and financial assistance.
Appointment Letters to Teachers and Staff
During the same ceremony, appointment letters were distributed to newly recruited PGT teachers, assistant professors in mathematics and science, and lab assistants. This recruitment drive underlines the government’s continuous efforts to strengthen the education sector by enhancing teaching capacity across schools and colleges.
Finance Minister Mr. Radhakrishna Kishore, Rajya Sabha MP Ms. Mahua Majhi, and Labor Employment and Training Minister Mr. Sanjay Prasad Yadav were present at the ceremony, signifying the collective push towards educational empowerment in the state.
Netarhat Residential School Opens Doors for Girls
In a landmark announcement, Mr. Soren declared that girl students will now be eligible for admission to the prestigious Netarhat Residential School, which had earlier been restricted to boys. This decision is being seen as a major step towards promoting inclusive and equitable education in Jharkhand.
Scholarships for Higher Education Abroad
Highlighting the government’s commitment to education, the Chief Minister said Jharkhand is the first state in India to provide scholarships for students to pursue higher education abroad. He noted that the state spends crores of rupees every year on this scholarship scheme. “If students take one step towards success, the government will help them take ten steps forward,” Mr. Soren affirmed.
These measures showcase the state’s focus on creating opportunities for students, strengthening the education system, and preparing Jharkhand’s youth for global competitiveness.
