Chief Minister Mr. Hemant Soren on Tuesday handed over appointment letters to newly appointed PGT teachers at the Project Bhawan in Ranchi. On the same occasion, the state government recognized academic excellence by conferring the prestigious Medha Samman to top-performing students of class 10th and 12th.
Students Receive Scooty, Laptops, and Financial Support
As part of the felicitation, students were presented with scooties, laptops, mobile phones, and cheques worth Rs. 3 lakh each. The honor was not restricted to Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) students alone, as high-achieving students from other recognized boards were also awarded.
Mr. Soren reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting youth by providing financial assistance and modern facilities to encourage academic growth. He further announced that girl students will now be given admission to the prestigious Netarhat Residential School, marking a significant step towards gender-inclusive education.
First State to Fund Overseas Scholarships
The Chief Minister also highlighted that Jharkhand has become the first state in India to provide scholarships to students aspiring for higher education abroad. He said, “If children take one step towards success, the government will help them take ten steps forward,” reaffirming the administration’s vision of empowering students to excel globally.
Boost for Education and Employment
In addition to the Medha Samman, appointment letters were distributed to PGT teachers, assistant professors in mathematics and science, as well as lab assistants. The recruitment drive reflects the government’s continuous efforts to strengthen the education sector by expanding the teaching workforce.
Finance Minister Mr. Radhakrishna Kishore, Rajya Sabha MP Ms. Mahua Maji, and Labor, Employment and Training Minister Mr. Sanjay Prasad Yadav were also present during the program, showcasing a united push towards educational development and employment generation in the state.
