Speaking at the Gua Shaheed Sthal on Monday, Mr. Birua praised Mr. Soren for being the first Chief Minister to acknowledge the sacrifice of those killed in police action during the statehood movement in undivided Bihar.
Pensions and Jobs for Martyrs’ Families Initiated in 2013
Mr. Hemant Soren, during his first term in 2013, announced state government jobs and pension benefits to the kin of the martyrs killed by the Bihar Military Police in West Singhbhum. This was a landmark move towards honoring the memory of those who contributed to Jharkhand’s struggle for statehood.
CM’s Vision for Comprehensive State Development
Mr. Birua highlighted that the current government is operating on a multi-pronged development agenda, which includes identifying martyrs across all 24 districts, generating employment, upgrading infrastructure, expanding road connectivity, and electrification of households.
15,000+ Pucca Roads Built, RCC Conversions Underway
In a major boost to rural infrastructure, the state has constructed over 15,000 pucca roads, with several more stretches being upgraded to RCC standards. This is expected to drastically improve accessibility, mobility, and economic activity in remote areas.
Universal Electrification by 2026
Under the Mukhyamantri Ujjwala Yojana, the state government is aiming to achieve 100% household electrification by 2026. Mr. Birua stated that the government is working in “mission mode” to ensure that no home in Jharkhand is left without electricity.
Empowering Women Through Malya Samman Yojana
The Malya Samman Yojana (MSY), a flagship welfare scheme for women, was termed by Mr. Birua as one of the major achievements of the current administration. He emphasized the CM’s commitment to bringing all eligible women under its coverage for improved social and economic security.
Compassionate Appointments for Families of Maoist Victims
In a move to support victims of extremist violence, government job appointment letters were handed over to six individuals, including kin of four persons who lost their lives in Maoist attacks in recent years. These compassionate appointments reflect the administration’s people-first approach.

The event, held in Kolhan division’s West Singhbhum district, witnessed an encouraging turnout from the local community.
