In a heartening blend of governance, education, and community engagement, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated a series of developmental projects worth over Rs. 200 crore in Jaisinagar, Sagar district, on September 25. The occasion also witnessed a display of innovative welfare schemes and a unique chess initiative aimed at promoting mental agility among school children.
Mission Chess: A New Chapter in School Learning
Spearheaded by Sagar District Collector Mr. Sandeep G.R., ‘Mission Chess’ is an innovative educational initiative designed to enhance cognitive skills in students. The exhibition showcased how chess is being introduced in local schools to stimulate strategic thinking, focus, and analytical abilities among young learners.
CM Joins Students in a Game of Strategy
Adding a personal and interactive touch to the initiative, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav surprised the attendees by sitting down for a friendly game of chess with student Bhautik Singh Jat. Playing the white pieces, the Chief Minister skillfully moved kings, queens, and pawns, reflecting his support for integrating mind-enhancing activities into mainstream education.
Chess for Mental Growth, Says Dr. Yadav
Lauding the Mission Chess initiative, Dr. Yadav emphasized the role of such games in mental development. “Chess sharpens the mind and builds patience. This will help students evolve into better decision-makers and thinkers,” he noted. Minister Mr. Govind Singh Rajput also expressed his admiration, stating it was the first time he witnessed a Chief Minister engaging in a chess match.
Renaming Jaisinagar to ‘Jai Shivnagar’
In a symbolic gesture marking the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, Dr. Yadav announced that Jaisinagar will be renamed ‘Jai Shivnagar’. He made the announcement via social media, describing it as a tribute to the spiritual and cultural heritage of the region.
Boosting Welfare Through Digital Governance
During the event, the Chief Minister also launched the ‘Chief Minister’s Food Service Awareness Program’ under the Food Security Resolution Ceremony. Additionally, a ‘Single Window Portal’ was introduced under the City Gas Distribution Scheme to streamline access to clean energy services, underscoring the state’s commitment to sustainable and citizen-centric governance.
