Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced a series of culturally and spiritually significant development projects in Madhya Pradesh, positioning Ujjain as a center of Sanatan tradition and ancient knowledge. Addressing the closing ceremony of the Shri Krishna Gurukul Shiksha Yatra virtually from Bhopal, Dr. Yadav congratulated all participants, including the Sati, Tirtha Purohit Mahasangh, Dharma Yatra Mahasangh, and Vishwa Hindu Parishad, calling the Yatra a “divine journey that retraces the sacred footsteps of Lord Krishna.”
The Yatra, which began in Mathura on October 5th, reached Ujjain via Jaipur, Kota, Jhalawar, and Agra. It symbolically followed the path once walked by Lord Krishna to the ashram of Acharya Sandipani for education, representing the revival of India’s ancient guru-shishya (teacher-disciple) tradition.
Krishna’s Footprints to Be Preserved Across MP: Pilgrimage Circuit Announced
Dr. Yadav declared that the government would develop Ujjain, Narayana village, Maitri Mal (associated with Shri Krishna and Sudama), Amjhera (Rukmini’s footprints), and Janapav (Indore) into sacred pilgrimage circuits. Along with spiritual rejuvenation, forests, gardens, and water structures located on Krishna’s path will also be protected.
These efforts aim to blend heritage conservation with regional development, positioning Madhya Pradesh as a leading state in cultural tourism and spiritual education.
Vrindavan Villages to Boost Dairy Development and Culture
In a unique fusion of agriculture and spirituality, the Chief Minister announced that “Vrindavan Villages” will be developed in the state to promote milk production, inspired by Lord Krishna’s early life as a cowherd in Vrindavan. These villages will not only enhance rural economy and dairy output but also serve as cultural models celebrating pastoral life, devotion, and sustainability.
The government will also celebrate Geeta Jayanti annually to spread the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, further rooting youth in spiritual values and moral leadership.
Simhastha 2028 to Be Organized with Historic Grandeur
Looking ahead, the Chief Minister committed to making Simhastha 2028—the revered Kumbh-like event in Ujjain—an occasion of unprecedented scale and spiritual splendor. He affirmed that no effort will be spared in promoting Sanatan Dharma and the cultural ethos of Madhya Pradesh.
Three Mega Cultural-Religious Centers to Be Built
In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Dr. Yadav unveiled plans to develop:
- Veda Vedanta University in Ujjain – A world-class institution for Vedic and spiritual studies
- Shri Krishna-Rukmini Lok in Amjhera – For imparting training in traditional arts, music, painting, and dance
- Sudarshan Lok in Janapav – For training in traditional and modern warfare, self-defense, and weaponry skills
These centers will blend ancient wisdom with contemporary relevance, giving India’s younger generation access to holistic education rooted in heritage and discipline.
