Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced a landmark industrial and agricultural development initiative, stating that the first and largest PM Mitra Park in India will be inaugurated in Bhainsola village, Dhar district, on September 17. The park is set to transform the cotton and textile ecosystem of Madhya Pradesh, positioning it as a national model for agriculture-based industrial growth.
The announcement was made during a high-level review meeting of the Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Department held at the Chief Minister’s residence in Bhopal.
Cotton Farmers and State Economy to Gain Big from PM Mitra Park
According to Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, more than 6 lakh cotton farmers in Madhya Pradesh, especially in the Malwa region, will benefit directly from the park. Additionally, the project is expected to generate 1 lakh direct and 2 lakh indirect employment opportunities, creating a robust rural-industrial growth engine.
“This park will enable local processing of cotton—spinning, weaving, garment manufacturing—eliminating the need to transport raw material to other states,” said Dr. Yadav. “It is a boon for our farmers and a key step toward Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India).”
PM Mitra Park to Attract Private Investment and Build Agro-Industrial Ecosystem
Dr. Yadav emphasized that private sector participation will be central to the success of PM Mitra Park. He shared that 114 companies have already applied for land, and 91 companies have received approvals. The Land Allotment Committee has sanctioned 1,294.19 acres to these companies, signaling strong investor confidence.
He further mentioned that construction activities for core infrastructure are already underway, and parallel factory construction by investors will begin soon. Production in some units is expected to start within the next 12 to 18 months.
Model Park to Inspire Nationwide Industrial Development
The Chief Minister proudly stated that while other states are still in the planning phase, Madhya Pradesh will lead the country by performing the Bhoomi Pujan (foundation stone laying) of the first PM Mitra Park.
“We are not just building infrastructure, we are creating an ecosystem where agriculture-based industries, employment generation, and value-added production converge,” he said. “This park will be a national benchmark.”
Agricultural Fairs to Strengthen Farmer Awareness and Market Access
In the same review meeting, Dr. Yadav directed departments including Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, and Fisheries to jointly organize multipurpose agricultural fairs. These events will serve as platforms to inform farmers about marketing strategies, value-added products, and agro-industrial linkages.
He stressed the need for consistent communication and farmer engagement to ensure they fully understand the benefits of the upcoming park and broader state-level initiatives.
A Unified Approach to Development Through Agriculture and Industry
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav concluded the meeting by reiterating the government’s vision: development through farmer welfare and industrial growth. He acknowledged the leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi in guiding such transformative projects and affirmed that Madhya Pradesh is committed to inclusive and participatory development.
