Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Yogi Adityanath on Thursday announced the establishment of “employment zones” named after Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in every district of the state. Each zone will be developed on 100 acres of land and will focus on training and employment opportunities for the youth, creating a robust industrial ecosystem.
The announcement came during the inauguration and foundation stone laying of investment and development projects worth Rs. 2,251 crore in the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) area. The Chief Minister said that the initiative would further strengthen the state’s employment infrastructure while promoting inclusive growth.
Employment Opportunities and Large-Scale Recruitment
Mr. Adityanath reiterated that his government is committed to providing jobs to the youth of Uttar Pradesh. He claimed that over 60 lakh youth have secured private-sector employment due to new investments in the state, apart from a “flood of government jobs.”
He highlighted recent recruitment drives including the induction of more than 60,000 police personnel, the recruitment of 2,538 child development supervisors, and upcoming large-scale hiring of staff nurses, teachers, and sub-inspectors. Fresh advertisements for new government jobs will also be released soon.
New Skill Training Centre in Gorakhpur
To enhance employability, the Chief Minister also announced the setting up of a skill training centre and common facility centre of the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET) at GIDA’s Plastic Park. With an estimated cost of Rs. 16 crore and 5 acres of land allotted free of charge, the centre will provide diplomas, degrees, and specialized training for local youth, ensuring better career opportunities.
Building a Secure and Investment-Friendly Environment
Mr. Adityanath strongly criticized the alleged “lawlessness” during the previous Samajwadi Party government, claiming that entrepreneurs were burdened by the so-called “goonda tax.” He said that the current government has created a safe business environment where no one dares to exploit traders and entrepreneurs.
He also attacked opposition parties over their criticism of electronic voting machines (EVMs) and alleged derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s mother. He asserted that divisive politics based on caste, region, or language are major obstacles to building “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India).
Developmental Impact
The creation of employment zones in every district marks a significant governance reform, combining infrastructure development with skill enhancement. Along with the new CIPET centre, these initiatives will boost industrial training, strengthen the local workforce, and attract fresh investments to Uttar Pradesh. By linking education, industry, and employment, the state government aims to build a sustainable pathway to economic growth and inclusive development.
