Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Launches Key Educational & Infrastructure Projects, New Teachers To Be Appointed For Tribal Schools

CM Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami announced major educational, housing and infrastructure projects while seeking central aid for disaster recovery

In a major step towards strengthening education, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami distributed appointment letters to newly selected assistant teachers for Government Ashram System Schools under the Tribal Welfare Department. This initiative aims to provide quality education to students in remote areas, thereby empowering tribal communities with better academic opportunities.

Infrastructure push in Tehri Garhwal and Dehradun

On September 4, Mr. Dhami approved Rs. 2.66 crore for the development of a parking facility in Ghansali market of Tehri Garhwal, addressing the region’s growing transport and congestion needs. Additionally, he sanctioned Rs. 4.49 crore for road construction works in Dharmpur assembly constituency of Dehradun, which include hot mix interlocking tiles, drainage systems, and enhancement of internal routes. These projects are expected to ease mobility and strengthen local infrastructure.

Housing development for police personnel

Expanding his government’s focus on housing, the Chief Minister sanctioned Rs. 51.28 crore for the construction of 120 Type II homes in the police line area of Racecourse, Dehradun. This move aims to provide modern housing facilities for police personnel, enhancing their living conditions and boosting morale in the force.

Social security and welfare initiatives

Mr. Dhami also facilitated the Loktantra Senani Samman Pension scheme, ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive arrears and ongoing payments. In a dialogue with citizens in Dehradun, he addressed concerns of senior citizens and differently-abled individuals, assuring that their issues will be resolved through dedicated policy support.

State seeks central aid for disaster recovery

At the same time, Uttarakhand’s disaster management officials have sought substantial financial support from the central government. A memorandum was submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs, requesting Rs. 5,702.15 crore to rebuild infrastructure damaged during the recent monsoons. This request underlines the government’s proactive stance on disaster preparedness and rehabilitation.
