Korba: NTPC Korba, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, organised the “Green India Clean India – Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” programme at Atmanand Middle School and High School, Charpara Kohdiya. The initiative aimed to promote cleanliness, responsible plastic waste disposal, and environmental conservation among students and the local community.
Rally, Tree Plantation, and Creative Competitions
The programme commenced with a cleanliness awareness rally involving students from both schools, spreading messages on maintaining hygiene and reducing plastic waste. Under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam initiative, saplings were planted within the school premises, symbolising love and respect for nature.
To encourage creative expression, drawing and painting competitions were held on themes of cleanliness and environmental protection. Students with exceptional artwork were recognised and awarded.
Community Participation and Messages on Cleanliness
The event was attended by Charpara Kohdiya Councillor Narendra Devangan, NTPC representatives Priyanka Kumari and R.C. Ben, Kaushik from Swachhta Pukare Foundation, along with school principals, teachers, and enthusiastic students.
Councillor Devangan stressed that cleanliness is vital for a healthy environment and that every individual should take responsibility for keeping their surroundings clean. Priyanka Kumari highlighted that a clean environment not only supports physical health but also boosts mental and emotional well-being while preventing diseases.
