New Delhi/Bikaner: SJVN Limited, a Mini Ratna public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Power, has successfully commenced commercial operations of an additional 80.77 MW capacity of its massive 1000 MW Bikaner Solar Power Project in Rajasthan. This development brings the total operational capacity of the project to 400.77 MW, marking a significant stride in India’s solar power generation drive.
Major Boost to India’s Renewable Energy Portfolio
The Bikaner Solar Power Project is among SJVN’s flagship renewable energy ventures and is aligned with the Government of India’s ambitious targets under the National Solar Mission. The project, once fully commissioned, is expected to make a substantial contribution to local and national energy demands while advancing India’s clean energy transition.
With the latest capacity addition, SJVN reinforces its commitment to expanding its renewable energy footprint. The company aims to help India achieve its goal of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based capacity by 2030.

SJVN officials confirmed that the remaining capacity of the 1000 MW project is in advanced stages of development, with more commissioning phases planned in the coming months. Once fully operational, the Bikaner Solar Power Project will significantly scale up the national renewable energy output and set new benchmarks in sustainable energy infrastructure.
