Bikaner/Bhuj: In a significant step towards sustainable energy, NTPC Limited and NLC India Limited (NLCIL) have joined forces to develop a 450 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid project, harnessing the combined potential of wind and solar power to deliver clean, efficient, and eco-friendly energy for the future.
A Blend of Wind and Solar for a Greener Tomorrow
The project will be implemented under an Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) framework, with NLCIL receiving a Letter of Award from NTPC on June 27, 2025. Under the agreement, NLCIL will supply hybrid power to NTPC for 25 years through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
The hybrid capacity will be developed in two locations—300 MW in Bikaner, Rajasthan, and 150 MW in Bhuj, Gujarat. By combining solar and wind generation, the project aims to ensure more reliable renewable power output, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, and support India’s climate commitments.
Strengthening India’s Renewable Energy Mission
This collaboration reinforces the commitment of both NTPC and NLCIL to advance India’s renewable energy portfolio and accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy. It also aligns with the Government of India’s vision of achieving 500 GW of renewable capacity by 2030, contributing to energy security and environmental sustainability.
