Kolkata: Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd (GRSE) held its 109th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Friday, September 19, 2025, where shareholders approved a total dividend payout of ₹13.85 per equity share for the financial year 2024–25. This marks a significant increase in shareholder returns, with the total dividend amounting to 138.5% of paid-up share capital, compared to 93.6% in FY24.

The approved final dividend stands at ₹4.90 per equity share (face value ₹10), in addition to the interim dividend of ₹8.95 per share disbursed in February 2025.

Strong Financial Performance in FY25

The dividend declaration comes on the back of robust financial results for FY25. GRSE reported substantial year-on-year growth across key performance indicators:

  • Revenue from operations rose by 41% to ₹5,076 crore, up from ₹3,593 crore in FY24.
  • Total income increased by 39%, reaching ₹5,411 crore compared to ₹3,892 crore in the previous year.
  • EBITDA climbed by 42%, standing at ₹756 crore for FY25 versus ₹534 crore in FY24.
  • Profit After Tax (PAT) surged by 48%, reaching ₹527 crore, up from ₹357 crore last year.

These figures represent the highest-ever financial performance in the company’s history, underscoring its strong order book execution and operational efficiency.

Market Reaction

Despite the impressive financial performance and enhanced dividend payout, GRSE shares closed slightly lower, ending the day at ₹2,603.50, down by 0.87% on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). Analysts suggest the dip may reflect overall market trends rather than investor sentiment toward the company’s fundamentals.

Commitment to Shareholder Value

The dividend approval reflects GRSE’s continued commitment to delivering value to its shareholders, backed by its strong financial health and consistent performance. The management’s ability to balance growth, profitability, and capital returns strengthens investor confidence and enhances the company’s long-term outlook in the defence and shipbuilding sectors.
