Kolkata: In a significant boost to India’s defence and maritime technology sector, Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE), a leading Defence Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited (KSSL). The collaboration aims to jointly develop and promote indigenous solutions for advanced naval systems, unmanned platforms, and other strategic maritime capabilities.

Strengthening India’s Maritime Self-Reliance

The partnership between GRSE and KSSL reflects India’s continued drive toward Atmanirbharta (self-reliance) in defence technology. By combining GRSE’s vast expertise in shipbuilding and maritime engineering with KSSL’s proven capabilities as a defence original equipment manufacturer (OEM), the collaboration is expected to enhance technological indigenisation and strategic capability in the country.

This initiative is poised to cater to both domestic and international markets, supporting the development of state-of-the-art naval and commercial vessels and promoting India as a hub for advanced maritime solutions.

  • Strategic Maritime Solutions – Technologies aimed at both domestic and international applications.

This comprehensive collaboration aims to integrate cutting-edge engineering and design expertise, ensuring modernisation and innovation in India’s maritime sector.

Promoting Indigenous Defence Solutions
