Kolkata: In a spectacular celebration of knowledge, heritage, and nation-building, Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) successfully concluded the 2025 edition of its flagship inter-school quiz competition ‘KWIZDOM’ at Kala Mandir Auditorium, Kolkata, on Saturday.

The initiative, part of GRSE’s educational outreach programme, saw over 50,000 students from more than 100 schools across Kolkata and Howrah engage in spirited intellectual competition from July 22 to August 16, making this year’s event the largest and most impactful edition to date.

Celebrating Aatmanirbhar Bharat, Maritime Legacy & India’s Youth Potential

Themed around India’s glorious legacy, Aatmanirbhar Bharat, maritime history, and shipbuilding excellence, KWIZDOM 2025 aimed to ignite curiosity and national pride in students from Classes VIII to X. It not only tested participants’ knowledge but also aimed to instill values aligned with the Panch Pran vision laid out by the Hon’ble Prime Minister – pride in roots, unity, national development, freedom from colonial mindset, and a deep sense of national duty.

“This year, over 50,000 students from 100+ schools turned KWIZDOM from a competition into a movement powered by curiosity, heritage, and pride,” he said. “From India’s maritime history to our march towards self-reliance, KWIZDOM celebrates the knowledge that shapes our future. Victory lies not only in winning – but in daring to compete.”

Joining him were senior GRSE officials including Cdr Shantanu Bose, IN (Retd.), Director (Shipbuilding), Capt (IN) P Sunilkumar, IN (Retd.), Director (Corporate Planning & Personnel), and Shri Bishambhar Newar, Chairman, Taaza TV.

Format and Execution: A Model of Engagement

All participating students received e-certificates in recognition of their effort and enthusiasm.
