In his address, Cmde Hari praised the CISF for its vital role in securing GRSE’s sensitive facilities. He reinforced the shipyard’s dedication to Atmanirbharta (self-reliance) and innovation, particularly highlighting the significance of indigenous technologies in national defence.
Referring to “Operation Sindoor” — an emblematic effort showcasing India’s self-sufficiency — Cmde Hari stated:
“There can be no substitute for home-grown technologies in safeguarding our sovereignty.”
Robust Order Book and Green Shipbuilding Initiatives
Highlighting the shipyard’s strong workload, Cmde Hari revealed that GRSE currently has 40 vessels under construction, including:
- 14 warships for the Indian Navy
- 9 export vessels
- 17 domestic commercial vessels
The projects encompass a wide spectrum of maritime platforms, ranging from advanced naval warships to zero-emission and hybrid-propulsion commercial vessels, reflecting GRSE’s commitment to environmentally sustainable shipbuilding.
