Gandhinagar: Chief Minister of Gujarat, Mr. Bhupendra Patel, laid the foundation stone for multiple development works under the first phase of the Ambaji Corridor at Adhyashakti Dham Ambaji. The first phase of the project is valued at ₹950 crore, while the entire corridor has been envisioned as a ₹1,632-crore initiative.
Speaking at the ceremony, CM Patel highlighted that the project is inspired and guided by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, aimed at the holistic and futuristic development of one of the 51 Shakti Peeths. The initiative reflects a 25-year master plan for Ambaji, integrating religious significance with world-class tourist infrastructure.
Phase One to Offer World-Class Facilities
The first phase of the Ambaji Corridor will include:
- Multi-level parking facilities for visitors
- Underpass roads for smooth traffic management
- Yatri Niwas pathways for pilgrim convenience
- Divya Darshan Chowk
- Shaktipeeth and Shaktipath development
- An amphitheatre and cultural spaces
- India’s largest light-and-sound show at Gabbar, Ambaji
These initiatives aim to enhance pilgrim experience while promoting tourism-driven local economic development.

Vision of “Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi”
CM Patel emphasized that the corridor aligns with the Prime Minister’s mantra of “Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi,” combining development with heritage preservation. He highlighted similar projects across the nation, such as the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, Mahakal Lok, Kedarnath, Baidyanath Dham, and the grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
“The Ambaji–Taranga rail project will further improve connectivity, enabling greater access for pilgrims and boosting the local economy,” the CM said.
Commitment to Pilgrim Welfare and Local Employment
Ministers Mr. Pravin Mali and Dr. Jayram Gamit reiterated the state government’s commitment to creating world-class infrastructure for pilgrims while generating employment opportunities for the local population. Dr. Gamit noted that lakhs of devotees visit Ambaji Shakti Peeth annually during Bhadarvi Poonam Maha Mela, and the corridor project will cater to this growing footfall.
CM Patel also mentioned the Gujarat Pavitra Yatradham Vikas Board’s ongoing work across the state, with several more sacred site development projects planned for the future.

The foundation-laying ceremony was attended by Cabinet Ministers Mr. Pravin Mali, Dr. Jayram Gamit, Mr. Kamlesh Patel, Swaroopji Thakor, MLAs from Banaskantha district, Tourism Secretary Mr. Kuldeep Arya, Member Secretary of the Yatradham Board Mr. Ramesh Merja, District Collector Mr. Mihir Patel, District Development Officer Mr. M.J. Dave, Ambaji Sarpanch, and numerous officials and local residents.

The Ambaji Corridor is designed to enhance both spiritual and cultural tourism while improving urban infrastructure, accessibility, and economic growth in Banaskantha district. The project’s multi-phase execution will provide modern amenities to pilgrims, integrate local heritage with contemporary facilities, and contribute to sustainable regional development.
