Jamnagar: In a major infrastructure milestone, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated Saurashtra’s longest flyover in Jamnagar, constructed at a cost of over ₹226 crore. The four-lane elevated corridor stretches 3,750 meters from the famous Subhash Bridge to Sat Rasta Circle, promising to significantly ease traffic congestion at key city junctions.
Enhanced Connectivity Across Key Routes
Designed to improve access to Dwarka, Reliance, Nayara, GSFC, and Rajkot Road, the flyover is expected to streamline commutes across the city. Areas such as Nagnath Junction, Grain Market, Bedi Gate, and Teen Darwaza—which have long faced severe traffic jams—will benefit from smoother and faster travel along the new corridor connecting Subhash Bridge to Sat Rasta Circle and Lal Bangla Circle.

Reducing Traffic Congestion and Fuel Consumption
City officials noted that the project will cut traffic snarls, reduce fuel consumption, and save valuable commuting time for thousands of daily travelers. The flyover also integrates extensive under-bridge public facilities, enhancing urban convenience. The area beneath the flyover spans 61 bays and accommodates over 1,200 cars, 850 two-wheelers, 250 four-wheelers, 100 rickshaws, 100 other vehicles, and 26 buses.
Public Amenities for Citizens
The under-bridge area has been transformed into a multi-use public space, featuring four pay-and-use toilets, a labor facilitation center, a sports activity zone across 10 bays, four seating areas, and a dedicated food zone. These facilities aim to create a functional and engaging space for residents and commuters.
Accelerating Jamnagar’s Urban Development
The new flyover is expected to transform urban mobility in Jamnagar, making city travel easier and supporting faster development. Recent upgrades to Jamnagar’s roads, railways, and industrial transport network have already enhanced connectivity to major hubs such as Rajkot, Dwarka, Reliance and Nayara refineries, GSFC, and national highways. Improved under-bridge facilities, expanded parking, and better access routes have strengthened local transport, while ongoing rail upgrades and proximity to major ports are positioning Jamnagar as a growing regional hub for industry, trade, and travel.
