Gandhinagar: The newly formed Vav–Tharad district is set to receive a modern Jilla Seva Sadan, a move aimed at strengthening governance and accelerating district development. The district will host the state-level celebration of the 77th Republic Day for the first time, marking a significant milestone.
The foundation stone for the project was laid by Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel, in the presence of Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Mr. Shankar Chaudhary and Minister of State Mr. Swaroopji Thakor. The Jilla Seva Sadan will be built on 39 acres in Tharad, with an estimated investment of ₹70 crore.
One-Stop Hub for Government Services
Aligned with Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s vision of good governance, the new Seva Sadan will allow citizens to access all district-level government services under one roof, including the office of the District Collector. With over 30 state government departments housed in the facility, the initiative is expected to save time, enhance administrative efficiency, and provide convenience to residents.
Green and Modern Infrastructure
The upcoming Jilla Seva Sadan will follow green building standards and feature modern amenities, including:
- Solar rooftop system
- Rainwater harvesting facilities
- Spacious meeting hall
- Modern elevators
- Basement parking
This state-of-the-art infrastructure reflects the government’s commitment to sustainable development and citizen-centric services.
District Leaders and Citizens Participate
The foundation ceremony was attended by Deodar MLA Mr. Keshaji Chauhan, District In-charge Secretary Mr. Nagarajan, District Collector Mr. J.S. Prajapati, District Development Officer Mr. Kartik Jivani, Roads and Buildings Secretary Mr. P.R. Patelia, Special Secretary J.A. Gandhi, and senior engineers and officials. A large number of citizens also participated, highlighting local support for the project.
The Jilla Seva Sadan in Vav–Tharad is expected to become a benchmark for efficient, centralized, and green governance, providing a modern administrative framework for the newly formed district.
