Ahmedabad: Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi presided over the e-Khatmuhurat (ground-breaking) ceremony for multiple police infrastructure projects worth Rs 202.85 crore. The initiative aims to enhance security, housing, and operational efficiency for the Gujarat Police and the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS).
Key Projects Launched
The projects include:
- ATS Building at Chharodi, Ahmedabad – Rs 47.98 crore
- Police Station at Bodakdev – Rs 33.49 crore
- Police Housing and PSI Quarters at Amraiwadi Police Line – Rs 74.62 crore
- Police Housing at Kagdapith – Rs 39.68 crore
- Dog Kennels and Training Office at Saijpur Bogha – Rs 5.74 crore
- Group-2 Bungalows for SRP – Rs 1.34 crore
These facilities are designed to provide world-class technical support and accommodation for police personnel while strengthening public safety measures across the state.
ATS Praised for Excellence in Counter-Terrorism
Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi said, “Today is a golden day for the Ahmedabad Police and ATS. These projects will enhance the security infrastructure at a cost of Rs 202.85 crore in a single day. Gujarat ATS is the silent force that works 24/7, ensuring the safety of six-and-a-half crore Gujaratis.”
Sanghavi highlighted the ATS’s exemplary performance in counter-terrorism, both within Gujarat and across India. “From dismantling terror networks in other states to preventing radicalisation online, the ATS has been pivotal in safeguarding the future of Gujarat. Operations spanning Punjab, West Bengal, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh demonstrate the squad’s unmatched efficiency,” he added.

The Deputy CM emphasized that the new ATS building will be more than just a structure. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, it will serve as a strategic hub to maintain Gujarat’s security and provide a strong deterrent against potential threats.
Sanghavi assured that the government is committed to providing technical and budgetary support to make the ATS stronger for years to come.
