  • Sarpanch Umedsinh Jhala: “A Moment of Pride”

Speaking about the award, Sarpanch Mr. Umedsinh Jhala credited the achievement to collective, cross-departmental coordination. “This recognition belongs to the whole village. Kanial Primary School: Fostering Holistic, Inclusive Education

At the core of Kanial’s educational progress is its Primary School, which follows a Child-Friendly Framework. The school emphasizes:

  • School safety and inclusive learning
  • Extracurricular development
  • Rights-based educational approaches
  • Community involvement and parental engagement
  • Monitoring of school dropout rates
  • Participation in competitive exams to build student confidence and ambition
  • Early Childhood Support at Anganwadi Centres
  • Kanial’s three Anganwadi Centres have emerged as cornerstones of early development by offering:
  • Pre-primary education and growth monitoring
  • CMAM-based health initiatives to combat malnutrition
  • Regular celebration of events like ‘Mangal Divas’ and ‘Mamata Divas’
  • Family Resource Support (FRS) activities for community awareness
  • Regular height and weight checks to track development

These centres not only address health and nutrition but also instill values of learning and social bonding at an early age.

Setting a Benchmark for Other Villages

Kanial’s achievement sets a benchmark for rural child-centric development in Gujarat. By integrating education, health, nutrition, and governance into a unified village-level framework, the village offers a replicable model for other panchayats aiming to uplift child welfare standards.
