Maharatna PSU Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has reported a provisional and unaudited revenue of Rs 30,400 crore for the financial year ended March 31, registering a marginal increase from Rs 30,381 crore in the previous fiscal. Despite operational challenges, the company maintained its revenue levels by accelerating deliveries of other products and services.

HAL’s Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), Dr. D.K. Sunil, acknowledged the hurdles faced, stating, “This achievement comes despite shortfalls in Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) and Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) deliveries. LCA deliveries were affected by engine shortages, while ALH deliveries were delayed due to an accident in January 2025 and the subsequent fleet grounding. However, we expedited deliveries of other products and services to sustain our top line.”
The company recorded a significant surge in its order book, which grew from Rs 94,129 crore at the start of the fiscal year to Rs 1,84,000 crore after adjustments. During FY 2024-25, HAL secured new manufacturing contracts worth Rs 1,02,000 crore and Repair and Overhaul (ROH) contracts totaling Rs 17,500 crore. A major milestone was the signing of a historic Rs 62,777 crore contract with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for the supply of 156 Light Combat Helicopters (LCH) “Prachand”—the largest-ever procurement contract in HAL’s history.
To meet growing demand, HAL expanded its production capacity by setting up additional assembly lines for the LCA and HTT-40 aircraft while enhancing its aero-engine capabilities at Koraput. In a remarkable achievement, HAL also became the first Defence Public Sector Undertaking (DPSU) to attain ‘Maharatna’ status.
Further strengthening its portfolio, HAL signed contracts for the supply of 12 additional Su-30 MKI aircraft, the Mid-Life Upgrade (MLU) of 40 Do-228 aircraft, the supply of 240 AL31FP engines for Su-30 MKI jets, and an avionics upgrade for one IL-78 aircraft. Demonstrating swift execution, the company delivered the first AL31FP engine within a month of signing the contract.
