New Delhi: Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), India’s premier defence and aerospace public sector undertaking (PSU), on Wednesday reported a 10.5 per cent year-on-year (YoY) rise in its consolidated profit for the second quarter of the current financial year (Q2FY26). The company posted a profit of ₹1,669 crore for July-September 2025, up from ₹1,510.48 crore in the same quarter last year.
Revenue Growth Continues
Revenue from operations for Q2FY26 rose 11 per cent YoY to ₹6,628.61 crore, compared to ₹5,976.29 crore in Q2FY25. The increase reflects sustained demand for HAL’s defence products, including aircraft, helicopters, and avionics.
However, total expenses for the quarter also increased by 17.34 per cent to ₹5,296.64 crore from ₹4,513.92 crore last year. This resulted in a 5 per cent YoY drop in EBITDA to ₹1,558 crore, with margins decreasing to 23.5 per cent from 27.4 per cent in the same period last year.
Standalone Performance
On a standalone basis, HAL’s Q2 profit rose 11.55 per cent YoY to ₹1,662.52 crore from ₹1,490.36 crore in the same quarter last year. Revenue for the quarter increased 11 per cent YoY to ₹6,628.46 crore from ₹5,976.55 crore in Q2FY25, showing consistent growth across its business segments.
Strategic Defence Agreements
Earlier this month, HAL entered into a significant agreement with General Electric Company, USA, for the supply of 113 F404-GE-IN20 engines. The contract also includes a comprehensive support package for the execution of the 97 Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Mk1A programme. Engine deliveries are scheduled between 2027 and 2032. The LCA Mk1A contract was signed in September 2025, further strengthening HAL’s role in India’s indigenous defence aviation initiatives.
