In a recent administrative update, 1993 batch senior IAS officer of AGMUT cadre, Ms Punya Salil Srivastava, currently serving as the Secretary of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has been assigned the additional charge of Secretary of the Department of Health Research.
The announcement was made through an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday, February 27, 2025. According to the order, the competent authority has approved Ms. Srivastava’s new responsibility, which will be effective from February 28, 2025, to March 6, 2025.
This assignment is temporary, covering the period of absence on leave of Dr. Rajiv Bahl, the regular Secretary of the Department of Health Research.
This move ensures continued leadership and smooth functioning of the department during Dr. Bahl’s absence.
