The government of Himachal Pradesh is in shortage of senior IAS officer as the officers are going on center deputation. In 3 months of the Himachal Pradesh government, 3 IAS officer have gone on center deputation and 04 senior bureaucrats are already on central deputation.

There are only 112 IAS officers left in the state after 2013 batch IAS and DC Bilaspur, Debashweta Banik went on center deputation, while the sanctioned cadre strength of IAS in the state is 153. Prior to Debashweta, Rajneesh and Shubhashish Panda of Principal Secretary rank also went on center deputation this year.

IAS Dr. Ajay Sharma has retired in February itself, while Rajeev Sharma, Amitabh Awasthi, Akshay Sood, Amit Kashyap, Kalyan Chand and Rakesh Sharma will also retire this year.
